Come along to the Avon Inn if you would be interested in helping with a Flood Group for Avonwick and North Huish and drawing up a Flood Plan for the parish.
Recent poor weather has led to requests for better flood planning in the parish and the Parish Council have asked for the community’s help to draw up a new Flood Plan for the whole parish to guide responses to future flooding problems related to both the river and surface water.
An initial meeting was held at the Avon Inn on Wednesday 6 March 2025. At the meeting the following were noted as specific areas of concern:
It is expected that further areas will be identified, and if you would like to contribute then come along to the meeting or get in touch.
A WhatsApp group has been set up for anyone who has a concern or interest in flooding in the parish.
